K-헤리티지 공간으로서 안동의 잠재력 모색 -하회마을과 병산서원의 문화경관을 사례로- = The Potential of K-Heritage Spaces in Andong -Case Studies of Hahoe Village and Byeongsan Seowon-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ‘K-헤리티지’ 관점에서 안동 하회마을과 병산서원의 문화경관 가치를 재조명하고, 현대적 장소성 및 교육적 활용 잠재력을 모색한다. 사우어의 문화경관론과 투안·렐프의 장소성 이론을 토대로 2018년과 2024년 두 차례 현장 답사를 통해 현장 관찰에 기초한 질적 경관 해석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 하회마을은 자연과 공생하는 지속유형 경관으로서 강력한 장소 자산과 생태 교육적 가치를 확보하고 있었다. 병산서원은 의도적 설계 경관의 정수로, 만대루의 차경 미학이 현대적 미니멀리즘과 공명하며 정서적 치유 및 인문 성찰을 이끄는 학습 공간임을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 안동의 문화경관은 유네스코 세계유산의 가치를 넘어, 현대적 담론 및 감각과 호흡하는 현재 진행형 문화 생태계이자 지속가능한 교육 자산으로서 높은 잠재력을 지닌다. 본 연구는 안동의 서사를 현대적으로 번역하여 전통의 창조적 계승을 통한 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 ‘K-공간’ 콘텐츠로 도약하기 위한 이론적 토대와 실무적 지향점을 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

This study re-examined the value of the cultural landscapes of Hahoe Village and Byeongsan Seowon in Andong from the perspective of “K-Heritage” and explored their contemporary placeness and potential for educational application. Grounded in the theories of Carl O. Sauer, Yi-Fu Tuan, and Edward Relph, this study conducted a qualitative interpretation of landscapes based on field observations in 2018 and 2024. The analysis revealed that Hahoe Village, as an organically evolved landscape, preserves the authenticity of a continuing landscape with strong resilience and functions as a powerful asset and educational site for fostering ecological value. Byeongsan Seowon, a masterpiece with an intentionally designed landscape, resonates with modern minimalism through its Chagyeong (borrowed scenery) aesthetics and serves as a vital space for visual rest and a learning environment that encourages humanistic reflection. In conclusion, Andong’s cultural landscapes are not static relics but on-going cultural ecosystems and sustainable educational assets for future generations that constantly reproduce new meanings in harmony with modern lifestyles. This study holds significance in providing an academic framework for transforming Andong’s classical narratives into globally competitive “K-Spaces” and offering practical directions for activating heritage education through modern translation.
