자율전공학부 소속 학생의 특성을 고려한 내러티브 코칭 적용 탐색 연구 = Exploratory Study on Application of Narrative Coaching Considering the Characteristics of Students in Undeclared Major

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 전공자율선택제 소속 학생들의 심리적 특성을 일반학과 학생과 비교 분석하고, 이들의 대학 생활 적응, 전공선택동기, 학업 지속을 지원하는 방안으로 내러티브 코칭 적용 가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대학 1학년생 137명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구 결과로 자율전공학부 학생은 일반학과 학생보다 학교 소속감과 전공선택동기(내재적 동기), 학업지속의향이 통계적으로 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 대학생의 학교 소속감과 전공선택동기(내재적 동기)는 학업지속의향에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 핵심 변인임이 입증되었다. 이러한 양적 결과와 더불어 학생들의 사례를 내러티브 코칭 모델의 개념에 비추어 분석한 결과, 자율전공 학생들의 자기 주도적 서사를 형성하는 데 내러티브 코칭이 실질적인 효용성을 가질 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 자율전공학부 학생들을 위한 정서적 지원체계로써 내러티브 코칭의 주요 개념 기반으로 이론적 검증을 하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to compare and analyze the psychological characteristics of students in an undeclared major program with those of students in general departments. Furthermore, it explored the applicability of narrative coaching as a strategy to support students’ adaptation to university life, major choice motivation, and persistence in studying. A survey was conducted among 137 freshmen. The findings revealed that students in undeclared majors had significantly lower levels of school membership, major choice motivation (intrinsic factor), and intent to persist than students in general majors. Additionally, school membership and major choice motivation (intrinsic factors) were proven to be key variables with a significant positive effect on the intent to persist. In additon to these quantitative results, an analysis of students' interviews based on narrative coaching confirmed that this type of coaching possesses practical utility in fostering self-authored narratives. This study is significant because it proposes the necessity and specific directions for applying narrative coaching as an emotional support system for students with undeclared majors.
