The objective of this research is to find out the effect of the plasma LDH isoenzyme and CPK concentration related variances before and after 12 weeks' regular exercise training for the elderly women who were over 65 years old.
The average ages of the 12 subjects were 73.42±3.37 years and average height 152.83±5.79cm. Also, average weight were 56.92±3.37kg. 12 subjects were selected in longevity gymnastic class, "S" Elder Welfare Institution in Choen-An city. The selected subjects behavior wasn't inconvenient and who are not participated at any exercise program. The exercise program for subjects were stretching, resistance training and aerobic exercise. and these exercise were done 60±10 minutes per day, 2 times per week for 12 weeks. The experiment was proceeded; blood analysis and physical strength measurement before and after training. The blood sample took right after the exercise and physical strength measurement were done with grip test, sit-up test, back strength test, 2 minute step test, 2.4m up-and-go test and standing on one leg with open eye test.
All statical analyses were managed by SPSS(Version 12.0) in personal computer. Data were analyzed using paired T-test to find out differences before and after training measurement value and the significant level for all tests was set at a<.05.
The results of the tests are as follows.
1. Through analysis LDH isoenzyme, the exercise training does not make significant changes on concentration of LDH₁. The cause of training, concentration LDH₂and LDH₄increased at after training than before training(p<.05). On concentration LDH₃, no significant changes appeared between before and after training. The concentration LDH₅ at after training shows higher value than before training(p<.01). The concentration of total LDH at after training shows higher value than before training, but in statically, no significant changes appeared.
2. Result of an analysis, significant increase in concentration of CPK was observed between before and after training(p<.05).
3. Result of an analysis, the measurement of strength increased at after training than before training(p<.01) and in flexibility test, it increased at after training than before training(p<.01). Muscle endurance shows higher value at after training than before training(p<.05). Significant higher value appeared in pulmonary endurance at after training than before training(p<.0
01). Also, in balance test, there was significant changes between before and after training(p<.05), yet there was no significant changes in agility test.
The result of this research shows that regular exercise training program helps to improve subjective plasma LDH isoenzyme, CPK concentration and physical strength in positive way. However, short-term exercise program for elderly people may not maintain effectiveness. So that to improve one's health and development exercise program, we should adopt long-term exercise program and research variety method of exercise which elderly people can exercise when ever and where ever they want.
