대학생의 자살생각 영향요인

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학생의 자살생각정도를 확인하고 대학생들이 경험하는 우울, 생활 스트레스, 심리사회 성숙도가 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 수행 되었다. 본 연구 참여 대상자는 C도에 거주하는 859명의 대학생으로 구조화된 설문지를 통해 대학생들의 자살생각, 우울, 생활 스트레스, 심리 사회적 성숙도 정도를 확인하였다. 본 연구결과 대학생들의 자살 생각 정도는 낮았으나 성별에 따라 남학생보다 여학생의 자살생각이 유의하게 높았다. 자살생각과 생활 스트레스 하부영역인 이성문제, 친구문제, 가족문제, 교수문제, 경제문제, 장래문제와 정적 상관관계로 나타났다. 특히, 가족문제와 친구문제는 자살생각과 높은 상관관계를 보였으며 친구관계는 자살생각에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과 자살생각을 예측하는 변수는 우울, 성 정체성, 자아 존중감, 친구문제로 특히, 우울은 자살생각을 예측하는 전체 모형의 26.2%를 설명하였고, 다른 변수에 비해 자살생각을 예측하는 가장 강력한 변수로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 대학생의 자살 예방을 위해 우울을 감소시킬 수 있고 대학생이 경험하는 우울과 성정체성에 대한 적절한 프로그램 개발의 필요성을 시사하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing suicidal ideation in university students. A descriptive correlation study design was used. A self-report questionnaire was administered to a convenience sample consisting of 859 university students to examine such students" suicidal ideation, depression, life stress (seven subscales) and psycho-social maturity (five subscales). The SPSS win 14.0 programs was used for descriptive analysis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson"s correlation coefficient analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The mean score for suicidal ideation was 0.76 (range: 0∼4). Suicidal ideation was found to have a significant positive correlation with depression (r=.511, p=＜.000), friend problems (r=.315, p=＜.000), economic problems (r=.256. p=＜.000), and future problems (r=.227, p=＜.000). The main factors that were found to contribute to suicidal ideation were depression (β=.371, p=＜.000), sexual identity (β=?.173, p=＜.000), self-esteem (β=?.141, p=＜.000), and friend problem (β=.121, p=＜.000), which accounted for 34.5%. It was found in this study that depression contribute most to the suicidal ideation among university students. As such, it is suggested that an education and training program on preventing or coping with depression should be provided to university students. (Korean J Str Res 2012;20:41∼50)
