권역별거점연구소협동번역사업 15년의 성과와 의의 = Achievments and significance of cooperative translation project of regional research institutes

국문 초록 (Abstract)

권역별거점연구소협동번역사업은 한국고전번역원의 대표적 사업 가운데 하나이다. 2024년은 사업을 추진한 지 15년이 되는 해이다. 본 사업을 중간 점검하고 후반기 사업 추진을 대비하기에 적절한 시점이다. 본고에서는 권역별거점연구소협동번역사업의 추진 경과를 정리하고 그 성과와 의의를 살펴보고자 한다.
권역별거점연구소협동번역사업은 2010년에 시작하여 2024년 현재 12개 거점연구소에서 연간 56책의 번역 사업을 추진하고 있다. 본고에서는 그 사업의 추진 경과를 정리하였다.
본 사업 추진의 성과와 의의를 살펴본다. 본 사업을 통해 지역 학계와 협력의 토대를 마련하였고, 번역 성과를 양적으로 증가시키고 한문 번역 인력을 안정화하는 성과를 거두었다. 한국 인문학의 발전과 콘텐츠 개발에 대해서는 더욱 노력과 관심을 기울여야 할 것이다.
끝으로 개선이 필요한 내용을 제기한다. 첫째, 한국문집의 조기 번역과 사업의 안정적 추진을 위해 사업 규모 확대와 사업비 증액 노력이 필요하다. 둘째, 현재 번역 후 출판되지 못한 성과물이 누적되어 성과물의 보급에 큰 차질을 빚고 있다. 셋째, 권역내 거점연구소 네트워크를 긴밀히 구축하여야 한다. 이러한 문제의 개선을 위해 많은 노력이 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The cooperative translation project of regional research institutes is one of the representative projects of the Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics. 2024 marks the 15th year since the project was promoted. It is an appropriate time to mid-term check this project and prepare for the promotion of the second half of the project. This paper summarizes the progress of the cooperative translation project of regional research institutes and examines its achievements and significance.
The cooperative translation project of regional research institutes began in 2010 and as of 2024, 12 regional research institutes are promoting 56 translation books per year. In this paper, the progress of the project is summarized.
The achievements and significance of this project were examined. This project laid the foundation for cooperation with local academia, increased translation results quantitatively, and stabilized Chinese translation personnel. More efforts and attention should be paid to the development and content development of the Korean humanities.
I would like to finish by raising content that needs improvement. First, efforts to expand the business scale and increase the project cost are needed for early translation of Korean anthologies and stable promotion of the business. Second, the results that have not been published after translation are accumulated, causing a major disruption in the distribution of the results. Third, it is necessary to establish a network of regional research institutes in the region closely. A lot of effort is needed to improve these problems.
