This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of feeding Briquette ash on body weight gain in growing and fattening pigs, A total of nine pigs including six fattening pigs of same litter and three growing pigs of other litter were allotted from April 1, 1981 to June 9, the same year at Department of Animal Science, Jin-Ju Agricultural & Forestry Junior Technical College. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Briquette ash contained Cu(21㎎/㎏), Zn(13.9㎎/㎏), Mn(98㎎/㎏), Fe(3.769㎎/㎏), Mg(0.183%), Na(0.025%), K(0.138%), P(0.074%), Ca(0.807%), C-ash (97.35%), C-fiber(4.13%), C-protein(0.52%) and Moisture (0.15%). 2. Though the formulated ration + Briquette ash treatment gained slightly more than the formulated ration treatment in the body weight gain, the differences between treatments were nonsignificant (P$gt;0.05) 3. In the fattening pig groups, the formulated ration + Briguette ash treatment was slightly inferior to the formulated ration treatment in the feed efficiency. 4. Feed efficiency in the growing pig groups was 3.0 and the effect on the atrophic pig groups was slightly superior. 5. In economical analysis, feed cost required per ㎏ body weight gain was 829 Won in the formulated ration treatment and 853 Won in the formulated ration + Briquette ash treatment. 6. Feed cost per ㎏ body weight gain in the growing pig group was 528 Won. 7. The palatability of Briquette ash was good and health condition of pigs feeding Briquette ash was normal.
