The Appreciation and Experience of Digital Images - Critical Review of Use of Digital Images in Museum Environment -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

과학과 기술의 급속한 발전은 정보화 시대라고 불리 우는 현실 속에서 미술, 더 나아가 예술의 분야에서도 많은 영향을 주고 있다. 특히 미술관 웹사이트가 발전함에 따라 미술관은 전시, 소장품 데이터베이스, 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 활용하는데 있어 실제 작품뿐만 아니라 디지털 이미지를 활용하여 다양한 미술관 체험활동 및 온라인 전시를 기획하고 있다. 본 논문은 시각예술분야 특히 박물관과 미술관이라는 예술작품의 연구, 보존, 전시, 교육공간에서 디지털 이미지를 사용한 감상과 체험의 문제가 어떻게 다루어지고 있는가에 대하여 문헌 연구를 중심으로 고찰하였다. 미술의 역사부터 시작하여 현대미술에서도 여전히 쟁점이 되고 있는 예술작품의 독창성(originality)과 복제 (reproduction)라는 문제를 살펴보면서 디지털 테크놀로지 발전의 결과라 할 수 있는 디지털 이미지를 통해 온라인 환경 속에서 미적체험과 미술교육의 현실을 살펴보고 그 가능성을 제안하였다.
미술관에서의 디지털이미지 활용은 특히 관람객과의 직접적인 인터랙션뿐만 아니라 미술관 교육전문가와 교사들의 교육 자료로 많이 활용되고 있으며, 앞으로도 개발될 많은 가능성을 가지고 있다. 실제 예술작품 감상을 위한 보충자료로써 뿐만 아니라, 디지털 이미지 그 자체가 인터랙티브한 작품 감상의 수단이자 대상으로 사용될 수 있다. 앞으로 디지털 환경 속에서 미술창작활동과 교육효과에 대한 연구가 지속된다면 보다 다양하고 새로운 온라인 미술 감상과 체험을 기대할 수 있으리라 생각한다.
