What is the reason why Yijing(Book of changes)was changed from a fortune-telling book to a philosophical book? Namely, What factors made Yijing to change from a fortune-telling book to a philosophical book? Although, there can be various viewpoints on this issue, this paper is based on the viewpoint that theory of diversely symbolizing through eight trigrams played a pivotal role in changing Yijing from a fortune-telling book to a philosophical book. The part most clearly showing the viewpoint change in 8 trigrams enabling Yijing to be a philosophic thing is the Shuogua(Discussion of the Trigrams). The Shuogua consists of 18 chapters, and the part addressing the acquisition of philosophical symbols appears to be from chapter 3 to chapter 10. However, random images not hardly equipped with a system are enumerated after chapter 11. The theoretic development stage sequence of Shuogua is back to front, not front to back. However, if 8 trigrams are indicated into a direction to explain all objects or situations from a total viewpoint by changing its direction to acquire the symbols of objects in the universe to just tell person`s fortune, the Shuogua is modified to a philosophical interpretation system explaining the entire universe. Here, Yijing can have the status as a philosophical book, through which people thoroughly investigate the logic of the world and fully realize the logic of life given to each person.
