조선 후기 문집 자서(自序)의 창작과 그 특징: 자기 서사로서의 면모와 관련하여 = The creation and feature of the author`s preface(自序) on collection of works(文集) in the late Joseon dynasty: In terms of the aspect as self-narrative(自己敍事)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis paid attention to creation tendency of the author`s preface on collection of works in the late Joseon dynasty, and researched patterns of self-expression in the prefaces.
In comparison with rare creation of the author`s preface in the early Joseon dynasty, it steadily created in the late period because of a combination with external motive like increase of self-collection of works(自編文集) and inner motive like aspiration about self-expression and escape from a fixed type. An author`s preface was fundamentally created by several formal factors such as a background as a writer, a process about the compilation of works, a format of the collection and his thoughts and feelings. But it was also formed variously depending on writer`s purpose, so this `loose format` made unconstrained expression possible for authors.
In terms of description and narration, the author`s preface conventionally use expression of `modesty and excuse` because of an unfriendly atmosphere about the self-collection of works. But despite of such tacit restriction, there were many writers that want to express their awareness and pride as a writer. So they show not only their will about self-renewal but also self-esteem about their talent and accomplishment through the preface. It is significant in the way that it reflects the strong aspiration about self-ex pression of writers.
On this wise, there were meaningful thoughts such as how to present his own ability and achievement as writer in the author`s preface. It is true that an author`s preface filled with timid self-expression because of a tightly strained relation between `ethics(道)` and `literature(文)` or `obligation of humble` and `desire of self-confidence`, but lots of writers presented their earnest wish for imperishability of their works through it. These aspects makes the author`s preface situate a part of `self-narrative(自己敍事)` in late Joseon dynasty.
