The purpose of this study is find out moral judgement how to role in moral education. Especially, I try to clear that how to making moral act to examine character and process of moral judgement.
One of outstanding features of the study on modern moral phenomenon is to reveal the nature of moral knowledge, which consists of the ability of moral judgement.
Many theories of moral education have been tired to identify what the ability for moral judgement is, and to find out how to develop it. To give the latest instance, R. S. Peters says that the processes of moral development include cognitive, affective, and ambitious aspects of morality. Especially, he emphasizes on the cognitive aspect of morality.
The issue of moral education can be analyzed into the problem of transmitting moral knowledge, and the problem of linking moral knowledge to moral action. However, it is the ability for moral judgement that the important factor of connecting between moral knowledge and moral action.
The reason of teaching to moral education, namely purpose of moral education is to make reasonable and autonomous man. In order to make these man absolutely necessary learning moral knowledge, purifying moral emotion, and developing moral will.
The purpose of this study is to identify the role of the moral judgement in moral education. Particularly, to find out the forming process of moral action, the process and nature of moral judgement have been analysed.
The purpose of the moral education is to make a man rational and autonomous. In order to bring up a rational and autonomous man, being learned moral knowledge, being sophisticated moral emotion, being cultivated moral will are needed in the first place.
The conclusion of this paper is as follows; First, an ability for moral judgement is the ability to act with rationally good reason about the conflicting moral situations or not autonomously to judge right and wrong in daily situation. This ability is an important element of determining the morality of action.
Second, a moral action is the result of complex working of moral judgement, moral emotion and moral will. By the way, the growth of ability for moral judgement is related with the acquirement of moral knowledge, and moral education is connected with the positive motive of action. And the moral can be an impulse of realizing moral judgement.
Third, to understand the moral situation, and under these state, to bring up the ability of rational judgement are more important than to internalize moral norms and rules.
To be brief, there are many cases that we act habitually, or in accord with moral norms, but we must aware that to act morally presupposes to judge rationally. We must recognize that growing up the ability of rational moral judgement is more important than transmitting moral rule and morality.
