다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

This study investigated whether high schoolers' personal characteristics such as school location, gender, and career coping efficacy influence their career deterrents and career facilitators. Furthermore, it identified several subordinate constructs of the career deterrents and career facilitators. 359 eleventh and twelfth graders in the southern part and the northern part of Seoul participated in the study. The results showed that on the whole high schoolers regarded ‘mother’ as the most important their career facilitators and they also viewed ‘father and friend’ as important their career facilitators. In contrast to previous studies, however, they did not consider ‘school teacher, school counsellor, and college professor’ as their career facilitators. This result seems to indicate their negative perception of them. With respect to sexual difference in career deterrents, female students more than male ones perceived ‘family related barrier’ as more important their career deterrents. The result is consistent to the earlier word. Additionally, differential testing of career deterrents and career facilitators according to the levels of career coping efficacy showed that students who have a higher level of career coping efficacy more than students did a lower one have higher achievement in all of the factors related to career development. Factor analysis of career deterrents and career facilitators identified six subordinate constructs such as personal ability and social support, educational support system, parent characteristics and belief, family and friend, relatives, and prejudice. Concerning the results from this work and earlier work, it should be noted that personal career development are associated with parent characteristics, discrimination or prejudice, personal nature, social relationship, and educational opportunity.
