배우자의 인터넷 외도 문제를 호소하는 부부치료 사례연구 = A Case Study on Married Couples Suffering from Online Infidelity Issues

Objectives: This research intended to discover the main intervention strategy and examine its effectiveness by conducting a case study on a married couple in their 30s who suffer from online infidelity. Methods: Programs that gave communication training to prevent conflicts and improve relationship, dealt with hidden issues other than infidelity, provided specific planning and action on expanding positive experiences, and developed a strategy to enhance marital commitment and bond were conducted. At the same time, a ground rule was discussed and established for the couples to follow, and the study supported and confirmed that the rule would be faithfully adhered to. The ground rule included the couple's own policy to control internet-related behaviors as well as codes of conduct that would contain factors triggering conflict. A total of 11 sessions were conducted, and K-MSI, DAS, and the level of internet/smartphone addiction were assessed before and after the therapy. Results: As the therapy progressed, the overall level of marital dissatisfaction decreased for both the husband and the wife, and the relationship adaptation level increased. All measures related to the internet usage were the same as those of the normal group both before and after the therapy. Conclusions: An overall improvement in relationship was seen through the couple’s subjective report in the final session. In particular, changes in communication and the increase in the level of bonding and commitment were recognized as the most important changes.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 인터넷 외도 문제를 호소하는 30대 신혼부부에 대한 치료 사례를 분석하여, 주요 개입 전략 및 효과성을 파악하고자 하였다. 부부갈등 예방 및 관계 증진을 위해 의사소통 훈련, 외도 문제 이면에 자리 한 숨겨진 이슈 다루기, 부부의 긍정적인 경험을 계획, 실천하기, 부부 사이 헌신, 연대를 위한 전략 개발하기 등이 한 축에서 진행되었으며, 다른 한 축에서는 부부간 그라운드 룰을 설정, 이를 지켜나가는 것을 지지하고 확인하는 작업을 하였다. 그라운드 룰에는 인터넷 관련 행동 조절을 위한 부부간의 규칙 설정과 갈등 촉발 요인을 차단하기 위한 행동 규칙 등이 포함되었다. 총 11회기 동안 치료가 진행되었고, 결혼만족도, 부부관계적응도, 인터넷/스마트폰 중독 정도가 사전, 사후에 평가되었다. 평가 결과, 총 11회기가 진행되는 동안 남편과 아내 모두 결혼에 대한 전반적 불만족 수준이 감소하였고, 부부관계 적응도는 상승하는 모습을 보였다. 인터넷 사용과 관련된 척도들에서는 사전-사후 모두 정상군 수준을 보였다. 주관적인 보고에서도 전반적인 관계 향상이 보고되었으며, 특히 의사소통의 변화와 연대감, 헌신의 증진이 가장 중요한 변화로 지목되었다.
