장성 백암산국기제의 전승 및 제의에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

전남 장성의 백암산국기제를 대상으로 국기단의 지형적 특성, 제례의 유래, 제례의 대상 및 기원내용, 제례의식 및 절차 등을 조사 분석하였다. 백양사의 「정토사 사적」에 의하면, 백암산국기제는 조선 선조 때(1603)부터 백성과 나라의 안녕을 기원하기 위해 간헐적으로 봉행된 기록이 있다. 제주(祭主)는 조정에서 종3품에 해당하는 홍문관 교리를 파견하였으며, 장성부사를 비롯한 인근 군현의 관장들이 참례하여 유교식 제례로 봉행되었다. 제물로는 육류·곡류·과일·채소 등으로 다양하고, 각 제물의 양도 많았다. 현재의 국기제는 1983년부터 장성문화원 주관(제주는 군수)으로 매년 군민의 날에 유불(儒佛) 합동형식으로 봉행하고 있다. 현재의 제단은 1986년에 축조되었다. 모든 제의절차는 일부 제물이 달라진 것을 제외하고, 조선시대의 제례 원형을 따르고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study researched and analyzed the geographical conditions of altar, the origin, object and contents for praying, and ceremony and procedure of Baegam-san (Mt.) national Ritual of Jangseong in Jeonnam. According to the 「Jeontosa Temple Historical Monument」in Baegyangsa Temple, the Baegam-san national ritual was intermittently carried out for the wellbeing of people and state by eradicating diseases and extreme drought from the King Seonjo (1603) in the Joseon Dynasty. As the mourner, a high-ranking official was sent from the Royal Court. The heads of neighboring counties and townships including Jangseong Minister participated in this Confucian-style ritual. As sacrifice, they offered a large amount of various items such as meat, grains, and vegetables. Since 1983, the ritual is carried out on the Day of County Residents every year, under the supervision of Jangseong Culture Center. In 1986, the current altar was constructed around the point which is estimated old ritual altar. Based on every ritual procedure of the Joseon Dynasty, the original form of ritual is well handed down except for some sacrifices.
