북한이탈 청소년의 문화적응 과정 분석 = 적응유연성을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 문화통합형 북한이탈 청소년들의 문화적응 과정을 적응유연성 중심으로 분석한 질적연구이다. 문화통합형으로 분류된 46명의 북한이탈 청소년들을 추적조사하여 12명을 심층면접한 결과, 문화적응 과정에 영향을 미치는 의지ㆍ지지ㆍ영적ㆍ강인유연성이 탈북 이전 단계, 제3국 체류 단계, 국내 입국 정착단계에 걸쳐 출현하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 의지유연성은 북한에서의 고생스러운 생활과 죽음에 가까운 북한이탈 과정을 통해 인과적으로 출현되며, 타국에서의 역경, 남한생활에 대한 기대 등은 이러한 의지유연성을 강화시키는 상황적 조건으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 남한에 입국하게 큰 도움을 주는 지지자의 출현은 지지유연성을 나타내는 인과적 조건이며 이러한 지지자를 통해 영적유연성이 이 시기에 발생됨을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 지지 및 영적유연성은 다시 의지유연성을 강화시키는 매개적 조건으로 작용하였으며 부적 강인유연성은 긍정적이며 낙관적인 사고를 강화시켜 지지유연성의 매개적 조건이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이를 토대로 한 북한이탈 청소년들의 국내 입국 정착 단계에 서의 새로운 개입실천 및 지원방향이 요구되는 바이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to illuminate the resilience of North Korean refugee adolescents and its effect on their acculturation. The situational and contextual conditions that enhance the support, the will power, and spiritual resilience of North Korean refugee adolescents as well as other characteristics reflecting their strong resilience were examined. Therefore, in order to examine the process of how this resilience is created and developed, twelve North Korean refugee adolescents, who were classified as cultural integrative types, were interviewed. All of the interviews were recorded and the data analysis was conducted using the Colaizzi method.
As a result, the mental resilience of the North Korean refugee adolescents was shown through the deadly process of their escapes from North Korea along with their painful lives before escaping North Korea. Their painful experiences of staying in a third country and the expectations of their lives in South Korea enhanced their mental resilience. At this time, they meet with supporters who helped them until they were able to safely enter South Korea and acquire support resilience. After arriving in South Korea and during their settling?in stage, they experience great setbacks due to the indifference of South Korean people, their school lives with younger classmates, and general academic difficulties acclimatizing to the new educational environment. They reveal the fact that they came from the North without any shame and form confident interpersonal relationships, reinforcing their support resilience through a positive and optimistic process of thought.
