그리그의 바이올린 소나타 2번에 대한 분석 연구 = An Analysis and Study on Grieg's Violin Sonata No.2 in G Major, Op.13

국문 초록 (Abstract)

그리그는 19세기 후반부터 20세기 초까지 북유럽을 대표하는 낭만주의 음악가이자, 노르웨이 문화 부흥 운동과 민족주의 음악을 이끌었던 중요한 음악가이다. 그는 피아노 소나타, 바이올린 소나타, 피아노 협주곡, 교향곡, 부수 음악, 예술가곡 등 다양한 장르의 음악을 작곡하며 낭만주의 음악의 형식, 기법을 바탕으로 민족 음악 요소를 결합하여 독창적인 작품을 완성하였다. 그리그의 음악 특징을 잘 표현한 민족주의의 대표 작품 중 바이올린 소나타 2번은 노르웨이 민속 색채를 잘 표현한 매우 독창적인 민족주의 음악이다.
본 논문은 그리그의 바이올린 소나타 2번을 분석하여 그의 음악 특징을 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 19세기의 민족주의 음악의 시대적 배경과 대표 작곡가와 작품들을 통해 음악 특징을 구체적으로 연구하였다. 더불어 노르웨이 민족주의 음악의 특징에 대해서도 살펴본 후, 그리그의 생애와 배경, 그리고 민족주의 작품을 연구하며 그리그의 바이올린 소나타 2번을 분석하였다. 이 작품에 나타나는 그리그의 민족주의 음악 경향을 파악하고 노르웨이의 민속 음악이 가지는 특징을 연구하고, 노르웨이의 민속 음악과 그리그의 민족주의 성향을 바탕으로 그의 작품을 분석하였다.

Edvard Grieg was an important composer representing Northern Europe from the late 19th century to the early 20th century who led the Norwegian cultural revival movement and Nationalism. He composed various genres of music including piano sonatas, violin sonatas, piano concertos, symphonies, incidental music and lied. These were original works that combined elements of nationalistic music based on the forms, techniques and musical languages of Romanticism. Among them, his Violin Sonata No. 2 is considered one of the most eminent piece that manifests traits of nationalism, Grieg's ingenuity and his particular musical language.
Therefore, this thesis analyzes Grieg’s Violin Sonata No. 2 to find his musical characteristics. For this purpose, along with examining the background of the 19th century, the characteristics of the 19th century’s nationalism were studied through the composers and their works of this certain period. Thorough examination of his life, compositional background and perception was conducted on the analysis of his violin sonata No.2. Furthermore, this study investigates the characteristics of Norwegian folk music and analyzes his work based on Norwegian folk music and nationalism in order to learn and to gain the importance of nationalistic tendencies in Grieg's music and his Violin Sonata No. 2.
