The purpose of this study is to explore a specific method and strategy in order to apply the competency based education into University education, which requires the ability that the students could apply the knowledge into the real situation, and then find out the possibilities of the effectiveness of competency based education and develop the Christian competency based education model. For this, This research explored the meaning and the necessity of the tendency learning that Wolterstorff maintains, and find out the Christian perspective on competency based education. And then, Draw out the core value and idea of the competency based education with the Christian perspective, and based on this, this research finally developed the Christian competency based education model. As a result, the effectiveness of Christian competency based education is like the following. First, It can develop the tendency of students deed as it supplies the learning process of problem solving in the contextual learning environment. Secondly, through the process of the development on the ability of performing the task and role, it can supply the real life experience that could solve the real problems in the world. Thirdly, it can give the opportunity to serve in the Christian community as a member as they develope their talent and unique abilities. This research shows the possibility that the education for life and tendency learning that Wolterstorff suggests, can be achieved more effectively through the competency based education in university.
