공공서비스 만족도가 지역사회 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 - 미국 스폴스시의 경험적 증거를 중심으로 - = The Effects of Citizen Satisfaction on Community Quality of Life: the Evidence from the City of Sioux Falls City in U. S.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article examines the impacts of citizen satisfaction with local public services on community Quality of Life (QoL), based on survey data from the city of Sioux Falls, SD. Before estimating the impacts of eight satisfaction variables, this study employed multiple imputation for dealing with missing data. As results, the type of citizen satisfaction that can be chosen by citizens to use a service such as library service, leisure service, and social welfare service have positive effects on citizen perception of community QoL. It turns out that local government should significantly consider the quality of public service which is more closely related to meet individual citizen needs and desires.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지방정부는 지역주민들의 삶의 질 향상을 공공부문의 최종적인 성과목표로 인식하고,시민들의 선호에 부응하는 공공서비스 제공을 통해 이를 구현하고자 노력하고 있다.
이에 본 연구는 지방정부가 제공하는 공공서비스의 질이 시민들의 삶에 지대한 영향을미친다는 시각에서, 공공서비스 만족도가 삶의 질에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지 분석하였다.
상향확산식 시각에서 삶의 질에 미치는 공공서비스 만족도의 효과를 분석함에 있어,다중대체법(MI)을 통해 불완전 자료를 보완함으로써 통계적 신뢰성을 확보하고자 하였다.
분석결과, 경찰서비스, 도서관서비스, 여가서비스, 복지서비스 만족도 변인이 지역사회삶의 질에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 비(非)경제개발영역에서의 공공서비스 질 향상에 지방정부가 많은 관심을 기울여야 한다는 것을 제시하며, 서비스 유형에 따라 시민 선호와 욕구가 반영되는 정도가 상이하다는 것을 제시하는 것이다.
