마리탱 인격 이론에 비추어 본 인격과 지식의 관계

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The cultivation of personality is possible through the transmission of knowledge. In Jacques Maritain s view, knowledge could serve as the path of cultivating personality by virtue of the preconscious . The preconscious is a spiritual dynamism beneath the apparent surface of explicit concepts or judgements and a desire to correspond with the reality. Therefore, cultivating personality through knowledge means accepting the desires as their own, rather than understanding the meaning of concepts and propositions. A prerequisite for cultivating personality is teacher s art which makes the knowledge as explicit concepts or judgements into the knowledge as the preconscious . It means that a teacher should reveal personality of his own.
Maritain s theory of personality contributes to understanding that the ultimate aim of moral education should be prescribed at the metaphysical-religious level, beyond the empirical level. Moreover, his theory can shed light upon understanding teacher s role in moral education and the nature of moral education as a school subject by presenting how teachers contribute to the cultivation of personality through knowledge.
