‘차별’에 대한 아동의 인식 = Children's Understanding of Discrimination

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is to clarify the conception of differences and discrimination, to analyse how the Korean children understand about discrimination, and to survey the level of children's understanding of discrimination, the transactor of discrimination and the current situation in terms of discrimination in Korea. For this study, students in year 5 from primary schools, in year 2 from middle schools, and year 2 from high schools have been selected randomly for questionary survey. The selected children were 122 boys (50.8%) and 118 girls. The findings from this survey are：Children are likely to perceive discrimination of appearance, physical condition, school record and age. The children's perception of discrimination is significantly affected more by the age difference than by the sex difference. The children indicated highly their friends as the transactor of discrimination.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ‘차이’와 ‘차별’의 개념을 정리하고 아동이 차별에 대해 어떻게 인식하고 있는 지를 조사하여 우리나라 아동의 차별수준과 차별 행위자, 그리고 이와 관련된 정서를 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 초등학교 5학년, 중학교 2학년, 고등학교 2학년 아동을 임의포집하여 질문지 조사를 실시하였다. 분석 대상이 된 아동은 남아 122명(50.8%), 여아118명(49.2%)이었다. 본 연구의 분석결과 아동은 외모나 신체조건과 학교성적, 그리고 연령에 에 의한 차별을 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 아동의 차별에 대한 인식은 성별보다는 연령차이가 중요하게 작용하는 것으로 나타났으며 차별행위자는 친구가 가장 높게 나타났다.
