Vasile Voiculescu, doctor and writer, is one of the representative Romanian writers who cultivated diverse genres such are the poem, the novel and the drama and whose literary world has the traditional and patriarchal direction of the Romanian literature with mysterious characteristics of the Orthodox religion. In his prose, the fairy tales in the primitive times become a reality and the superstition is the daily life. People communicates with animals and plants, and the truth reality and the fiction, the nature and the supernaturalness combine each other. He brings the opposite between the ancient culture and the modern civilization into relief through these contrasts.
The theme of Voiculescu’s poems is divided into two, the religion and the love. He said “The religious feeling is the most pure and sublime expression and the art is the dedication to the faith.” His poems were understood as a continuous purification and also as a laboratory which prepares a meeting between the human beings and God.
His love poems sing an eternity of the life. The love which transcends time and death is the possibility which offers the absolute dimension to the passing life. And it is a unique eternity for the human beings. Love makes the time of life to return to the eternal essence of the basic time, and the life with love could have the eternal time.
