한국 언론이 보는 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁|RISS 상세보기

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 지난 1년간 지속되었던 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁과 관련된 국내 언론매체의 전쟁 관련 보도를 거시적으로 살펴보는 것을 주요 목적으로 하였다. 본 논문은 우크라이나 전쟁 관련 연구사례가 우리나라의 안보에 함의를 제공해 줄 수 있는 사안이라고 진단하고 있다. 따라서 해당 사례의 언론 보도가 매체의 정파성에 따라 다르게 보도되는지 혹은 정파성과 상관없이 동일하게 보도되는지 살펴보고자 한다. 보수신문과 진보 신문을 각각 대표하는 조선일보와 한겨레신문의 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁 관련 기사를 수집 및 분석하였다. 본 연구는 빅데이터 내용분석을 통해 양적 분석을 시도하였으며, 결과를 도출하여 비교고찰을 시도했으나 분석 결과 신문의 정파성에 따른 보도 행태에 유의미한 차이점을 발견할 수 없었다. 이는 한국 언론이 우크라이나 전쟁에 대한 단편적인 정보 전달을 중심으로 보도하는 것으로 해석된다. 연구 결과 향후 뉴스를 공급하는 전달자의 정보의 질과 뉴스를 공급받는 수용자의 정보 해석력에 대한 현주소를 점검해볼 필요가 있다. 그리고 향후 연구에서 좀 더 다른 지역의 사례를 포함해 비교하는 것도 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine media coverage of the War in Ukraine over the past year. Empirical studies point out this war has an implication for Korea’s security. Consequently, this study attempts to investigate how Conservative and Liberal newspapers would differently portray this war based on their partisanship. This study collected and analyzed media data separately by media partisanship. This study chose Chosun Daily for the representative conservative media and did the Hankyoreh for liberal media in Korea. This study employed Big Data Content Analysis as a main methodology. The findings indicate that there was no contrasting results by the media partisanship. The South Korean media is not likely to pay significant attention to this global issue but to deliver the progress of the event. Hence, it is necessary to explore the quality of news by senders of message and the receivers’ media literacy. Finally, media coverage by regional issues or nation states could be useful for the future research.
