1) What were the whole trends of the college students' perceptions of lifelong education?
2) Were there any differences between the man students' and woman students' opinions about the elements of lifelong education?
3) Were there any differences in their opinions concerning the lifelong education between those students in Cheongju and in Seoul?
4) What were the differences between students majoring in liberal-social science and natural science in their opinions of lifelong education?
2. Methods and Processes
1) Subjects : 2,400 college students of were selected.
2) Instrument : The questionnaire for the college students was organized by the researcher on the principle of 17 sub-elements in the 5 areas which had been drawn from the readings. The 17 sub-elements of the 5 areas were supposed to be the bases of the lifelong education.
3) Period : From November 1st to 30th, 2003.
4) Analysis of Data : The collected data were categorized into variables and the differences between the variables were confirmed by the method of χ2.
3. Results and Conclusion
1) The majority of the college students agreed to the viewpoint that lifelong education is the integration of education from birth to death and individual - social education.
2) The man college students and woman students showed the significant differences in the level of 1%~5% in the 9 sub-elements of the 5 areas of lifelong education.
3) The students in Cheongju and those in Seoul showed the significant differences in the level of 1%~5% in the 8 sub-elements.
4) The college students majoring in liberal-social science and natural science showed significant differences in the level of 1% in the 5 sub-elements .
5) The objectives and contents of the lifelong education programs should be established on the bases of the learners' opinions.
