      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      Auto transmission is a device which accomplishes upshift and downshift alternatively for converting the output of engine properly according to driving conditions. Many researches about AT has been progressed, but many people focus their researches on upshift, not downshift. In this study, downshift control algorithm is developed. First, mathematical modeling of target system and simulation program is developted and verified by experimental results.<br/>
      In order to get the improvement of shift quality, control algorithm is designed to increase output torque linearly during inertia phase. To do so, engaged clutch pressure and disengaged clutch pressure is controlled using virtual sensor. Because the target system has clutch-to-clutch shift type transmission, independent control of each clutch is possible. So MISO control which controls engaged clutch and disengaged clutch at the same time is used to control one output element, output torque. The controller is designed using fuzzy logic control, and the performance of the controller is evaluated by simulation.
