다문화와 상호문화 비교 연구 : 1994-2023년 언론 보도를 중심으로 = Comparative Study of Multiculturalism and Interculturalism : Focusing on Media Coverage from 1994 to 2023

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 1994년부터 2023년까지의 다문화 및 상호문화 관련 한국 언론 보도를 언어 관계망 분석을 통해 비교하였다. 분석 결과, 다문화 관련 보도는 주로 지원과 관련된 정책적 접근에서 다뤄졌으며, 상호문화 보도는지방정부의 정책 소개에 중점을 두었다. 이는 다문화주의와 상호문화주의의 이론적 배경과는 다소 거리가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 미디어가 문화 간 교류와 상호 존중을 촉진하는 다문화주의와 상호문화주의의 근원적목표를 얼마나 반영하고 있는지를 평가하며, 미디어 접근 방식의 전환을 제안함으로써, 다문화 및 상호문화를 다루는 더욱 효과적인 언론 전략 개발에 중요한 시사점을 제공한다.

This study analyzes the portrayal of multiculturalism and interculturalism in Korean media from 1994 to 2023 through a linguistic network analysis. The findings indicate that coverage related to multiculturalism predominantly focused on policy-oriented support, while interculturalism was chiefly presented through local government policy initiatives. This approach shows a significant deviation from the theoretical foundations of multiculturalism and interculturalism. The study evaluates how well the media reflects the core goals of promoting cultural exchange and mutual respect inherent in these concepts. It suggests a shift in media strategies to more effectively represent multicultural and intercultural contexts, providing important insights for developing more effective journalism strategies.
