오르페오 신화의 대항 음악서사, 자크 오펜바흐의 「지옥에 간 오르페」 - 제2제정기의 프랑스 사회와의 연관성을 중심으로 - = Counter-Narrative in Orpheus Myth, Jacques Offenbach's Orphee aux enfers - Focusing on relevance to France of the Second Empire -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오르페오 신화는 ‘잃어버린 사랑을 찾아 목숨을 걸고 모험을 떠나는 오르페오의 지고지순한 사랑이야기’라는 메시지를 바탕으로 각 시대와 지역의 사회문화적 성향을 반영하며 수천 년에 걸쳐 다양한 예술 장르로 재생산되어 왔다. 하나의 신화가 시대를 넘나들며 예술적으로 다양하게 재생산되는 모습을 통해 신화를 통한 시대읽기가 가능하다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 오르페오 신화의 서사가 19세기 프랑스에서 어떠한 예술적 표현형식으로 재현되는지를 살펴보고, 예술적 표현형식이 프랑스 정치권력 체계를 어떻게 묘사하고 있는지를 고찰해 보고자 하였다.
이처럼 신화의 예술적 변용을 통해 각 시대가 추구하고 있는 신념이 무엇인지를 도출해 낼 수 있을 것이라는 가정에서 출발하면서, 오르페오 신화의 기존 각본이 19세기 프랑스 제2제정기 하에서 어떻게 다르게 수행되는지를 살펴보았다. 이어 오르페오 신화가 기존의 비극 오페라라는 범주를 넘어서 풍자와 해학의 역할을 하는 ‘오페라 부프’(opera bouffe)라는 장르로 등장하게 되는 배경과 함께, 음악적 관습은 어떻게 해체되어 나타나는지에 대해 자크 오펜바흐의 「지옥에 간 오르페」(Orphee aux enfers)를 통해 증명해 보고자 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Orpheus myth has been reproduced in various art genres over thousands of years, reflecting the socio-cultural tendencies of each age and region, based on the message, ‘Orpheus's most innocent love story, which risks his life in search of lost love.’ It is possible to read the times through myths through the fact that a myth is reproduced variously through the times. Therefore, I would like to examine how the narrative of Orpheus myth is reproduced in nineteenth-century France and how the artistic form describes the system of French political power.
Starting from the assumption that the artistic transformation of myth can be used to derive what beliefs are pursued by each era, I look at how the existing scripts of Orpheus myth are performed differently under the second empire of France in the nineteenth century. In addition to the background in which Orpheus myth emerges as an ‘opera bouffe,’ which plays a role of satire and humor beyond the traditional tragedy of opera, I try to prove how the customs of music were disintegrated through Jacques Offenbach's Orphee aux enfers.
