The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of rotator cuff syndrome and adhesive capsulitis, which are common shoulder diseases, and use them as basic data for the development of prevention and exercise treatment programs. The subjects of the study used data provided by the Health Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) for five years from 2018 to 2022 to investigate major shoulder diseases (adhesive capsulitis, rotator cuff syndrome, bicipital tendinitis, calcific tendinitis, impingement syndrome, bursitis of shoulder, other shoulder lesions, shoulder lesions unspecified) in men and women aged 0 to 80 years or older and analyze the prevalence of frequent shoulder diseases. As a result of the study, it was found that rotator cuff syndrome and adhesive capsulitis are multiple shoulder diseases, and the prevalence of both musculoskeletal diseases was higher in people aged 40 to 79 compared to other age groups, and the prevalence was higher in people in their 80s or older compared to the small population. Additionally, the prevalence rate was found to be higher in women compared to men.
Finally, the prevalence of multiple shoulder diseases will be analyzed and used as data for exercise methods and program development for prevention and treatment.
