한국 사람들의 상담가에 대한 이미지 = The Image of The Koreans Toward Counselor

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국사람들은 상담가에 대해 다른 정신건강분야 전문가들에 비해 어떤 이미지를 갖고 있을까? 고등학생, 대학생, 일반인 총 1,014명을 대상으로 연구자들이 제작한 어의미분척도를 사용하여 상담가가 사회복지사, 정신과의사, 간호사, 목회상담가의 네 정신건강분야 전문가들에 대한 이미지와 어떤 차이가 있는가를 알아보았다. 그 결과 평가요인에서는 정신과의사, 사회복지사와 비슷하였으나 역능요인에서는 사회복지사나 간호사가 상담가보다 더 높은 이미지로 인식되고 있었고, 활동요인에서는 사회복지사에 미치지 못하였다. 마지막으로, 정신건강 전문가로서의 상담가에 대한 홍보방향을 제언하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

What kind of image do Koreans have for counselors compared with other mental health professionals? Semantic Differential Scales was used to measure how the public image of counselors differs from those of social workers, psychiatrists, nurses, and christian counselors. The participants were 1,014 Koreans, including high school, college students. The results were as follows: psychiatrists and social workers had better public images than counselors in evaluative, potency, and activity factor, respectively. We discussed several implications on how to build up the image of counselors as an mental health professional.
