중증지체장애인의 사회참여 영향요인 연구 = Predictors of Social Participation of People with Severe Physical Disabilities Based on ICF Framework

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 ICF 틀을 적용하여 1급 중증 지체장애인의 사회참여 영향요인을 파악하고, 이를 근거로 중증지체장애인의 사회참여를 활성화시킬 수 있는 정책적 및 실천적 함의를 제언하는 것이다. 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 2006년도 국가인권위원회가 전국에 거주하는 중증장애인 생활실태를 조사하기 위해 수집한 자료를 2차 자료로 활용하여 분석하였다. 즉, 본 연구의 대상자는 원 자료의 9개 장애유형의 1급 중증장애인 700명 중 20대 이상의 1급 중증 지체장애인 374명이다. 본 연구의 주요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1급 중증 지체장애인의 사회참여에 영향을 미치는 요인으로, 기능 및 장애요인에는 만성질환여부, 후천성 여부 및 장애 지속기간이, 개인요인에는 학력, 월평균 가구소득이, 환경요인에는 장애인복지서비스이용정도, 물리적·사회적·태도적 환경으로 인해 직면하게 되는 문제의 심각성 정도가 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 토대로 1급 중증 지체장애인의 사회참여를 향상시키기 위해 필요한 정책적 및 실천적 개입 방안을 제안하였다.

Recently, the social participation of people with disabilities has drawn public attention because of the enactment of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Disability Discrimination Act, amendment of the Disabled Persons' Welfare Act, and the commencement of nationwide Personal Assistance Service for people with disabilities. This article discusses the predictors of social participation of people with severe physical disabilities based on the ICF framework. Multiple regression was carried out using secondary data from 374 respondents. Major findings are as follows. The factors influencing the social participation of people with physical disabilities are chronic illness, duration of disability, educational background, monthly household income, innateness of the disability, the degree of utilization of social services, and the severity of the problem faced by the environment (physical, social, attitudinal). In conclusion, to improve the social participation of people with severe physical disabilities, political and practical solutions are suggested.
