Primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC) is a disease of unknown etiology characterized by the destruction of small intrahepatic bile ducts, probably on an immunologic basis. PBC affects mainly middle aged women, and cause cholestasis that may progress to cirrhosis and finally result in the liver failure. We report a case of 39-year-old woman with a initial presentation of general weakness and pruritus for 5 years. Liver biopsy findings were compatible with PBC showing monocyte infiltration, destruction of srnall intrahepatic bile ducts, and periportal fibrosis that were accompanied by negative anti-mitochondrial antibody in repeated tests.
