The cutting is the major part in the machine making process, and the cutting condition is formed by summing the various properties of the materials to be cut, that is,
(1) The magnitude of the cutting resistans,
(2) The condition on the cutting surface,
(3) The life of the cutting tool,
(4) The chip removal, etc.
Accordingly, we can solve many difficulties and get the effectuation of the cutting tool only through the systematic study to previous conditions.
On the other hand, when we consider the cutting to economy, the great profit is get by lowering the cost to one article and shortening the cutting time to one article.
From the above, if the cutting speed is increased at this time, the amount of the cutting tool wear is risen and the cutting cost is increased, the profit is increased in the same propotion.
Otherwise, if the cutting speed is increased too much, the amount of the cutting tool wear is suddenly increased and the total profit is increased.
Therefore, we can know that there will be a turning point to be able to get the most profit by any proper cutting speed and an adaptive control method.
From the above view, I describe the limit point and the character of an adaptive control method, and I considered the various characters of the performance index(P1) to be the estimating criterion.
