‘집단지성’(Collective Intelligence)에 대한 언론 프레이밍 연구 = A Study on Press Framing with Respect to ‘Collective Intelligence'

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대중이 집단적 행동을 통해 자신들의 견해를 표명하는 방식은 현대사회에 고도로 발달된 사이버 네트워크 속에서 더욱 적극적이고 다양하게 표출되고 있다. 즉 온라인을 중심으로 오프라인까지 활발하게 넘나드는 이러한 대중적 참여문화는 이슈에 대한 적극적 문제제기를 통해 스스로 지성화되고 있는 것이다. 이러한 상황은 전례가 없는 근원적 변화이며 사회변동의 새로운 징후로 평가할 만하다.
이와 같은 현상들은 오랫동안 지식의 전문화에 기여해 왔던 차별적 접근과 배타적 소유라고하는 지식권력의 강고한 연합체제가 대중으로부터 강력한 저항을 받고 있다는 것에 다름 아니다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 시대적 상황 속에서 정치 · 경제 · 사회 · 문화 전 영역에서 발생하고 있는 대중의 집합적 행동인 ‘집단지성’(Collective Intelligence) 현상에 대해 언론이 어떤 프레임을 갖고 어떻게 바라보고 있는지를 고찰하고자 한다. 구체적으로 언론의 프레이밍에 의해 제시되는 집단지성으로서 ‘대중’의 이미지는 무엇인지, 특정 이미지의 집단지성으로서 ‘대중’에 대한 언론의 태도와 입장은 어떠한지, 그리고 집단지성이 부정적으로 표출되는 상황에서 어떻게 평가하고 이를 극복하기 위해 제시하는 대안들은 무엇인지를 주요 신문 보도기사에 사용된 프레임을 분석함으로써 살펴보고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Method for public to express their opinion through collective behavior is more actively and diversely manifested under the highly advanced cyber network in the contemporary society. Namely, this type of public participatory culture actively transcending to online up to off-line is to be intelligent itself through raising the active issues. This type of situation would be the unprecedented original change and can be considered as new symptoms of social change.
This type of phenomenon is similar to the having powerful resistance from the public with the discriminatory approach that has been contributed to the specialization of knowledge for a long time and the solid united system of knowledge power in exclusive ownership. This study is aimed at contemplating how the press looks into the 'Collective Intelligence' phenomenon as the collective behavior of the public that is generated in entire territories of politics, economy, society and culture under such situation in time in what framework. In more concrete terms, as the collective intelligence presented by the framing of the press, it intends to find out what image of 'public' is, what is the attitude and position of the press on the 'public' as the collective intelligence with certain image, and what are the alternatives evaluated and presented under the situation that the collective intelligence is displayed negatively by analyzing the frameworks used in the major newspaper articles.
