일반계 고등학생의 진로결정 및 진로정보인지수준 영향요인 = Determinants of career decision and perceived level of career information of general high school students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Using a sample from the Korean Education and Employment Panel(KEEP), this study explores the factors influencing career decision and perceived level of career information of general high school students. First, the results of logistic regression analysis show that gender, male guardian's occupational status, ego-identity, determining their own desirable job and career-related dialogues and activities with family are found to be statistically significant factors on students' deciding their future career. School career programs, however, don't have any effect on it. Next, this study examined determinants of the perceived level of career information using a structural equation modeling. This analysis found the family support to be the most important factor, with ego-identity and career guidance of school as the other positive factors on career information perception. These findings indicate that individual factors such as family background and support are much more influential on student's career development than public resources such as school programs. These results suggest the need to improve school careers programs and the need to give special consideration to students who have difficulties in having good career guidance at home, so that they are not alienated from developing their career.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 한국직업능력개발원의 한국교육고용패널(KEEP) 1차년도 데이터를 사용하여 일반계 고등학생의 ‘진로결정’여부에 영향을 미치는 요인과 합리적인 진로결정을 위해 필수적인 ‘진로정보’ 획득수준을 결정하는 요인은 무엇인지에 관해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시한 희망전공에 관한 결정여부에는 성별, 남성보호자의 직업, 자아정체감, 미래의 직업결정여부, 가정 내 진로관련 대화활동 등이 유의미한 효과를 발휘하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 학교에서 제공하는 진로관련 프로그램에의 참여는 별다른 영향을 주지 못했다. 다음으로, 희망전공을 결정했다고 응답한 학생들을 대상으로, 그와 관련하여 인지하고 있는 진로정보수준에 영향을 미치는 요인을 구조방정식 모형을 통해 분석한 결과, 가정 내 진로지도가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 자아정체감, 학교의 진로지도가 그 뒤를 이었다. 이는 아직까지 학생들의 진로결정 및 진로정보습득에 있어서 학교 등 공적인 지원체계보다는 가정을 비롯한 개인적 자원이 더 큰 영향을 미치고 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 이 같은 결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 학교의 진로지원체계를 개선강화하여 그 효과를 증대시키고, 특히 가정에서 양질의 진로지도를 경험하기 어려운 학생들이 진로개척과정에서 소외되지 않도록 배려해야 함을 제언하였다.
