사회정서윤리학습(SEEL)의 기존 문제와 유학적 SEEL의 필요성 및 발전 방향 = Current Problems of SEEL and the Necessity and Future Directions of a Confucian SEEL

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회·정서적 역량 부족으로 어려움을 겪는 학생이 늘면서, 현재 한국에서 사회정서학습(SEL)의 수요는 커지고 있다. 다만, 기존 사회정서학습은 윤리적 요소가 뚜렷하지 않다는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 글은 한국형 사회정서‘윤리’학습(SEEL) 체계를 마련하기 위해 유학 윤리에 주목한다. 이미 불교적 SEEL 프로그램이 존재하나, 이는 현재 이론적 측면과 현실적 측면에서 논쟁의 여지가 있다. 반면 유학적 SEEL은 SEEL의 취지를 살리며 기존 문제를 보완하는 데 상대적으로 유리하다. 이런 논의를 토대로, 본 글은 한국의 유학 문화를 반영한 한국형 유학적 SEEL의 개발 방향을 제안한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As the number of students struggling with a lack of social and emotional competence increases, the demand for Social and Emotional Learning(SEL) in South Korea is growing. However, existing SEL models lack an explicit ethical foundation. This study therefore turns to Confucian ethics in order to propose a framework for a Korean model of Social, Emotional, Ethical Learning(SEEL). While Buddhist-based SEEL programs already exist, they remain subject to ongoing theoretical and practical debate. In contrast, a Confucian approach to SEEL is relatively more advantageous for fulfilling the original intent of SEEL while addressing its current shortcomings. Based on this discussion, this paper proposes directions for developing a Korean model of Confucian SEEL that reflects Korea’s Confucian cultural heritage.
