This report was the results of studying all factors leading to the 268 acult drug poisoning patients who had been admitted to Soon Chun provincial hospital in Jun La Nam Do from Jan 1, 1981 to Dec 31, 1981.
The results were as follows,
1. There were 268 drug poisoning patients, Comprising 49.1%, of the total patients admitted.
2. Regional distrbution;
① of the 268 patients, 42.9% resided in urban areas, while the remaining 57.1% resided in rural areas.
② Of the agricultural chemical patients, there were more patients from the country(74%) than from the city.
③ Among other types of poisoning, the reverse trend was pronounced.
3. Sources of poisoning
① Agricultural chemicals(the most common):48.9%
② Rodenticide:18.7%
③ Barbiturate:14.6%
④ Co-poisoning:8.2%
⑤ Other drugs:9.6%
4. Aging Group Distribution
① The 20th Group (the highest):36.6%
② The 10th Group:18.9%
③ The 40th Group:13.8%
④ The 30th Group:11.2%
⑤ The 60th or above Group:9%
5. Distribution among sexes.
The overall sex incidence was 63% (171Cases) male to 36.2% (97 Cases), female above said distribution indicated the made preponderance by 1.8 times.
6. Monthly distribution
14.6% of total drug poisonings occurred in march with 13.8% occurring in July where as most agricultural chemical poisoning occurred in July.
7. Timed distribution
Poisonings occurred most frefuently between 5Pm and 8Pm

ⅳ) miosis
ⅴ) decreased body Temperature
② In the Case of Rodenticide Poisoning
ⅰ) impairment of Consciousness
ⅱ) B.P elevate
ⅲ) Decreased body temperature
ⅳ) Convulsion
ⅴ) Mydriatics
9. Overall Mortality rate of total poisoning patients.
Was 15.3%, and Mortality rate of agricultural chemical poisoning was 18.3%
Agricultural chemical poisoning resulted in the highest Motality rate.
