This paper contains a comprehensive and critical overview of the main ideas and policies currently used at the intersection of neoliberalism and competitive ideology in Korean education. The idea that neoliberalism, in the modern tradition, has something to offer to the educational motto is the time-serial succession of "a view of individuality as a congregation of self-interests that leads to the exploitation of other people and the environment." However, this paradigm sometimes puts a negative light on our education. It also pushes the dark lines of phenomenon to two effects: mapping out some terrain in connection with the malfunctions of over-competition and over-performance in education. This essay is revelatory of both Seon (禪) Buddhism, in its attempts to understand how Buddhistic meditation and the Hwadu (話頭) method can contribute to understanding of the self-cleaning system, and Seon (禪) Buddhists who want to integrate how they can use wisdom in lived experiences of everyday life.
