      The progressive theatrical movement in Daegu got into its stride from 1983. The theatrical company, Siin established in January of 1983 and the theatrical troupe, Tal in December of same year, when the progressive drama different from the existing other dramas of Daegu started. The central members of the theatrical company, Siin and the theatrical troupe, Tal were mostly the graduates of Kyungbuk National University and most of them participated in the activities of the Drama club and the Mask dance club. They founded their own organizations, denying entering the existing theatrical groups in Daegu They grasped the problems of theatrical field in Daegu in two perspectives ; one is that the theatrical companies had the closeness in managing, the other is that the performances of drama were strongly subjected to those of Seoul. So they thought much of the equal right and responsibility between members in managing and as an alternative they chose the democratic operating way of selecting the works to perform by all members`` agreement. They tried to break the subjectivity to Seoul performance, which was apparent in their effort to perform the works that have the characteristics of Daegu. The theatrical company, Siin and the theatrical troupe, Tal performed Madangguk created with the subject matters concerning Daegu and used dialect of Daegu as a performing language. These performances had definitely distinguished traits from other ordinary performances those days in Daegu. These two groups laying the groundwork of progressive theatrical movement in 1980s were integrated in the theatrical company, Hamkkesaneunsesang in 1990. As both of them headed for madangguk and had the same perception on politics and society, they thought that they could pursue the specialization in theatrical movement by integration. Their progressive movement of 1980s couldn``t change fundamentally the conservative theatrical field of Daegu. But it is estimated that they obtained good results in that they settled the progressive theatrical movement in conservative Daegu theatrical field and ensured the possibility of continuing this movement.
