The purpose of this study was to suggest an alternative plan for the relief and prevention of premenstrual syndrome. Menarche, age, and exercise frequency were examined for this study. Subjects were randomly sampled and collected from both 312 participants at sports centers and 353 non-participants.
The questionnaire was based on Abram/s(1982) and general questions were added. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and post-hoc methods.
Results are as the following:
First, Menarche ages of 14~16 years old are the lowest in premenstrual syndrome among all subjects. Behvior group is significantly different.
Second, as subjects are getting old, the premenstrual syndrome is reduced. There is significant difference between symptom groups except concentration group.
Third, as subjects are more rigirously exercising, the premenstrual syndrome is greatly reduced and there is significant difference between frequency of exercise.
Consequently, exercise is one of the most effective ways to relieve and prevent premenstrual syndrome.
