The objective of this study was to investigate the basic theories related in wastewater treatment using rotating biological contactors and to fine the parameters of retention time and tangential speed.
The following conculusions were obtained from the result of the research.
1. The optimum retention time and tangential speed in the reactor was 4 hours and 30㎝/sec, when the remaining rate of 0.1(=r) is settled up including the efficiency of the final clarifier.
2. Rate constant (K₂) of BOD reaction in the reactor was 0.113 for 180 rpm.
