Prepare for the depletion of fossil fuel, the automotive industry is actively conducting research into the HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Technical development of the construction equipment including excavator, which uses the fossil fuel as a main source of energy, is also going on progress to improve the fuel efficiency. Especially the research of hybrid system is in the limelight of the excavator industries.
While HEV is developed, the technique of Hybrid was possessed already. However operating characteristics of excavator are different from the car. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the control algorithm for the hybrid excavator.
This study proposes the power management control algorithm for hybrid excavator. And propriety is verified by experiment using a test bench, including a super-capacitor module, that imitates the power system of hybrid excavator.
