PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the effect of the leader-athlete relationship perceived by student athletes on exercise stress factors. METHOD To examine the purpose of this study, 218 copies of the data collected using convenience sample extraction were used as effective samples. For data processing, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 24.0. RESULT As for the influence of the coach-athlete relationship on the athlete's exercise stress factors, first, the interaction of the coach-athlete relationship perceived by the student had a negative effect on the relationship dissatisfaction of the athlete's stress factors. Second, the dedication of the coach-athlete relationship perceived by the student player negatively affected the guidance dissatisfaction of the exercise stress factors. Third, the dedication of the coach-athlete relationship perceived by the student player had a negative effect on the dysfunction of exercise stress. Fourth, the dedication of the coach-player relationship perceived by the student player negatively affected the career anxiety of exercise stress. Fifth, the commitment of the coach-athlete relationship perceived by the student player negatively affected the time constraints of exercise stress. CONCLUSION Coaches suggest that feedback should be provided by understanding the types of stress that may appear in student athletes, identifying the cause of stress, and forming an effective coach-athlete relationship to exercise stress experienced by student athletes.
