음악 영재성 구체화를 위한 다면적 탐색:신체적 적합성 탐색을 중심으로 = The Multidimensional Exploration of Specific Qualities of Musically Gifted & Talented: Emphasis on Physical Characteristics

This study aims for searching and identifying the specific qualities of musically gifted and talented. In this study musical aptitude and musical ability are considered as common, primary qualities of musically gifted and talented, and affective components such as eagerness for learning music are also considered as common qualities. The writers confirm that the general qualities such as musical aptitude and affective components as essential qualities for identifying gifted and talented in music.
Since music is a diverse and comprehensive art form with many underlying disciplines such as composition, performance, appreciation and etc., we need a further investigation for identifying gifted and talented children according to each area of music discipline, such as piano, wood wind, brass, and string instruments. For this reasons, the writers would like to identify the specific and particular qualities in addition to general or common qualities of musically gifted and talented. Surely, it is assumed that there are also a variety of exceptions in the secondary qualities.
The writers believe that this specific and multidimensional explorations could be a more reasonable guideline for identifying proper students and contribute to carry out more effective educational programs for each child. Especially, this study could be a basis of all educational endeavors for finding potentially gifted and talented in music, matching proper instruments for them, and constructing specific contents of educational programs.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

음악 영재는 피아노 영재, 창작 영재, 관악 영재 등을 포괄하는 개념이다. 피아노 영재, 관악 영재 등은 모두 음악 영재에 속하지만 각기 구별되는 특성을 갖는다. ‘관악 영재 = 피아노 영재’라는 등식은 성립될 수도 있겠지만, 각 분야에서 요구되는 영재성이 다르다는 것을 고려할 때 이는 현실적으로 성립하기 어려운 등식이라 볼 수 있다. 각 영역 혹은 분야에 따른 영재성의 규명은 음악 영재 연구에 필요한 부분이다. 본 연구는 이러한 생각에 기반을 두어 수행되었다. 즉 기존의 음악 영재의 공통적 특성으로 간주되어 온 음악 적성과 후천적 성취에 의해 계발되는 음악적 능력, 그리고 음악에 대한 열정을 포함한 정의적 특성에 더하여 영역별 음악 영재에게 필요한 부차적인 특성, 즉 신체적 조건이나 신체 협응 능력 등을 찾아 이를 해당 영역의 구체적 영재 속성으로 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 물론 이 같은 부차적 특성에는 예외가 있을 수 있다는 전제 하에 논의를 전개할 것이다. 음악 영재에 대한 다면적 탐색은 보다 타당한 영재 파악의 지침이 될 것이며, 이는 효율적인 음악 영재 교육 구현에도 이바지할 수 있을 것이다.
