This short paper deals with the question of Korean Ancient Cities Bangri(Gid) System introduced in Pyongyang and Kyongju, regarding whether the system was related with the formation of urban structure. the origin of the Bangri system is not known and there are many difficulties in understanding the development of urban structure due to the lack of the exact form of they rectangular size created by Bang and Ri. In particular, the existence of the closed form of a Bang(one unit of rectangular size) and the location and size of the markets will be applicable for judging the regularity of structural differentiation in Bangs function. In spite of a long practice of the Bangri system in the ancient cities, its impacts on urban structure formation was not great and overall, but the remains of the Bangs names in the present cities provide crucial evidence in identifying the layout of urban development.
