『湖洞西洛記』一考 = A study on 『Ho Dong Seo Nak Gi』

『湖東西洛記』 or <HodongSeonaki>, well-known as the literary work of Women's Journey Story written for the first time in Joseyon Age,reflects the unique and independent world of self-awareness that the main characters, Gyumwon has. Thus, it is difficult to conclude that the work merely portrays journey that a woman takes.
Unlike most women, Gyumwon tries to find out solutions to the practice where the Joseyon Age required that men and women can not sit together or talk , face to face'In addition, she makes efforts to overcome the restrictions put on women, as much as she can.
or Gyumwon, journey is the active practice task to harmonize universe earth, heaven and nature, and the same time, is the road to active self-reflection.
This work depicts sensory descriptions on natural landscape, through colorful languages and words in the process of recording journey. Also, this work focuses on showing how much intellectual ability a women has on the basis of abundant authentic and historic data Moreover, a strong sense of identity to identify her own presence by recording journey experiences, and a strong sense of solidarity to form with her colleagues of < Samhojeong Poem Phrases>in the course of publishing 『湖東西洛記』 or <HodongSeonaki>, seem to surpass the world. Gyumwon leads the world independently by identifying and expressing her self-awareness.
『湖東西洛記』 or <HodongSeonaki> not only represents this subjective awareness that the author has, but also, mirrors the image of active and extrovert women instead of image of passive and introvert women. In the sense, it deserves to make the new evaluation on the work in aspects of the cultural value and significance.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

『湖東西洛記』는 조선최초의 여성 유람기라는 단선적인 평가만으로는 규정지을 수 없는 독보적이었던 금원의 자의식 세계를 보여주는 작품이다. 당시대부분의 여성들과 달리 금원은 남녀 부동의 제 현실에 대해 여행이라는 독자적인 해결 방안을 모색하였다. 뿐만 아니라 당대를 살아가는 여성으로서의한계와 그에 대한 적극적인 극복 의지까지를 보여주고 있다. 금원에게 여행은천지 자연과의 조화를 위한 실천적 과정이었으며, 현실을 향한 적극적인 자아표출의 방법이었다.
여행의 기록에 있어서 화려한 색채어를 통해 실경에 대한 감각적인 묘사를보여주는 것은 물론 풍부한 전고와 실제적인 고증을 통해 자신의 지적 능력을 극대화시키는 것에 주력하고 있다. 나아가 유람의 내용을 기록으로 남겨서까지 자신의 존재를 확인받고자 했던 강렬한 전세 욕구, 『湖東西洛記』편찬과정에서 보여준 삼호정 시사 동료들과의 여성 연대 의식은 시대를 초월한것이었다.
금원은 강인한 자의식의 확인과 그 표출 과정에서 보여주는 독자성만으로도 시대를 압도하고 있다. 『湖東西洛記』는 이러한 작가의식을 담고 있을 뿐아니라 당대 사대부가 여성 문인들이 보여주었던 소극적이고 내부 수렴적인여성의식이 아닌 적극적이고 외부 발산적인 여성의식을 보여주고 있다는 점에서 그 문학적 가치와 의의를 새롭게 평가해야 할 것이다.
