질베르 시몽동의 기술철학에 대한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

질베르 시몽동은 20세기 철학의 가장 독창적인 사상가 중 한 사람이지만 오랫동안 부당하게 간과되어 왔다. 이 ‘질베르 시몽동의 기술철학에 대한 연구’는 과학기술에 관한 오늘날의 논의에서 시몽동의 기술에 대한 사유가 지니는 급진적인 중요성과 한계를 짚어가면서 시몽동의 기술철학에서 ‘기술과 존재’와 ‘기술과 정치’를 탐구하고자 했다. 반실체론적이고 반질료형상론적인 시몽동의 개체발생적 관점에 따르면, 기술적 대상들의 존재 양식은 인공적인 것도 자연적인 것도 아닌 구체화의 준안정적 형성물이다. 기술의 발전은 자동화로 특징지어지지 않으며, 반-인간화나 반-자연화를 촉진하지도 않는다. 기술은 존재론적 본성상 인간과 자연, 인간과 인간의 관계를 매개하는 소통의 역량이다. 시몽동은 기술적 작용의 본질을 은폐하는 노동 패러다임을 비판했고, 노동 공동체에서의 생산수단으로부터의 소외를 넘어서, 기술적 활동과 기술적 연결망과 관련된 심리-생리학적이고 관계적인 소외의 차원을 부각시켰다. 이 기술적 소외를 극복하는 진정한 방법으로서 인간들 사이의 개체초월적 관계는 기술적 대상들 사이의 변환적 관계 맺음, 기술적 발명의 개체초월적 역량, 그리고 인간 존재와 기술적 존재의 적합한 관계로부터 비롯한다. 개체들에 연합되어 있는 전개체적 실재의 하중을 실어나르는 기술적 활동에 근거해서만 인간의 자연에 대한 관계와 인간들 사이의 관계를 개체초월적인 방식으로 재발명할 수 있다. 해체된 공동체와 분리된 개인들의 유동적 근대 사회를 넘어서 개체초월적 집단의 내적 공명과 소통은 정보 네트워크 시대의 기술적 앙상블에 의해 실현될 수 있다. 마르크스, 하이데거, 아감벤, 라투어 등의 기술에 대한 사유에 필적할만한 비판적 대안으로서 시몽동의 기술철학은 노동과 사용도구의 관점이 아닌 기술적 작용과 활동의 관점에서 인간과 기계의 상호협력적 관계를 강조하며 정보기술문화 속에 살아가는 현대 인간의 삶을 이해할 수 있는 새로운 가능성을 열어주었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Gilbert Simondon was one of the most inventive thinkers of twentieth-century philosophy but has for too long been unjustly neglected. This ‘study on Gilbert Simondon's Philosophy of Technology’ was aimed at examining ‘Technology and Existence’ and ‘Technology and politics’ from Simondon's philosophy of technology with measuring radical importance and limitation of its in current debates about technoscience. According to Simondon’s ontogenetic perspective which is anti-substantialism and anti-hylomorphism, the mode of existence of technical objects is the metastable formation of the concretization neither the artificial nor the natural. The technological development isn’t characterized by the automation, accelerate neither anti-humanization nor anti-naturalization. Technology is, by ontological nature, communicative power that mediates both the relation between human and nature and the relation between human and human. Simondon criticised the paradigm of labor which conceal the essence of technical operation. Beyond the alienation from means of production in the labor community, he emphasized the psycho-physiological relational dimension of the alienation concerning the technical activity and the technical network.
