부모-조부모 관계의 질이 청소년기 손자녀-친조부간의 유대관계에 미치는 영향 - 부산시 중 고등학교를 중심으로 -

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of parents` role for the grandparent-grandchild relationship. A survey was adiministered to 414 adolescent grandchildren living in Pusan. The main results of this study were as follows : 1) Mother-grandfather relationship quality had effects on both perceptions of grandparent and grandchild role. 2) The quality of mother-grandmother /grandfather relationship was found to be the strongest predictor of both contact and shared activities of grandparent- grandchild. 3) Mother-grandmother and father-grandmother relationship quality effected on the the quality of grandmother-grandchild relationship and mother-grandfather relationship quality influenced on the quality of grandfather-grandchild relationship directly. Also, mother-grandfather relationship quality effected on the quality of grandchild-grandmother /grandfather relationship indirectly via perception of grandchild role and mother-grandmother /grandfather relationship quality influenced on the quality of grandchild-grandmother /grandfather relationship indirectly through shared activities. These results suggest that parents` role, mothers` role in particular, is critical in determining relationships between grandparent and grandchild.
