체육사상연구에 대한 비판적 고찰 = A critique of the study on thoughts of physical education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There are so various studies in the name of the study on thoughts of physical education within sport philosophy. It may be necessary to investigate research subject and method of the study on thoughts of physical education. Through this investigation, the purpose of this study is to explore the conditions that the study on thoughts of physical education as sport philosophy must have. First, the conceptual denotation of the thoughts of physical education that is the research subject of the study on thoughts of physical education is the embodiment of each thought like the concepts of physical education, the thoughts of body, the view on the nourishing vitality, the view of health and hygiene. And the conceptual connotation is the consistent system of thoughts that has logical consistency by logical judgement and reasoning. If research subject of the study on thoughts of physical education is a philosophical system that has logical consistency, it would be included in sport philosophy. Second, it would be necessary to distinguish the study on thoughts of physical education as sport philosophy and the study on history of thoughts of physical education as sport history in aspect of research method. But there is no strict distinction because researchers are ignorant of research method and pursue values for practical use that extrinsic to scientific values. In situation that most of the study on thoughts of physical education are based on the eastern and western classics, it necessary to be careful not to lean toward exegetical studies and authoritarian attitude that would be obsessed with making a interpretation of language itself.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

체육철학 분야에서는 체육사상이라는 이름으로 다양한 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 체육사상연구의 연구대상과 연구방법에 대해서는 명확한 규명이 필요한 실정이다. 이러한 규명을 통해 체육사상연구가 체육철학 분야의 확고한 연구 영역으로 자리 잡기 위한 조건을 탐색하는 것이 이 논문의 목적이다. 먼저 체육사상연구의 연구대상인 체육사상의 개념적 외연은 체육관, 신체사상, 양생사상, 위생사상 및 보건사상 등과 같이 체육과 관련된 개별적 사상들의 총체라고 할 수 있다. 내포는 체육과 관련되어 판단 및 추리를 거쳐 형성된 논리적 정합성을 가진 통일된 사상체계라고 할 수 있고 이에 대한 연구가 바로 체육사상연구가 되어야 할 것이다. 따라서 체육사상연구가 체육철학 연구가 되기 위해서는 논의의 대상이 논리적 정합성을 가진 철학적 체계를 이루고 있어야 할 것이다. 체육사상연구가 체육철학 연구가 되기 위해서는 연구방법 측면에서 체육사 연구에 해당하는 체육사상사연구와는 구분되어야 할 것이다. 하지만 실제로 연구방법의 모호함이라는 학문 내적 이유와 실용적 가치를 추구하는 학문 외적 이유 때문에 이러한 구분이 엄격히 이루어지고 있지 못하다. 그리고 동서양의 고전을 텍스트로 이루어질 수밖에 없는 체육사상연구는 연구방법 측면에서 언어 자체의 해석에만 몰두하는 훈고학적 경향과 권위주의적 태도를 주의해야 할 것이다.
