An aim of this study is to seek alternatives for strategic development of coastal region to local government. To attain the objectives, a way of survey and methodologies applied are as follows. A survey on the spot was conducted in the vicinity of Orykdo with structured questionnaires and factor analysis, cluster analysis, and MultiNomial Logit (MNL) were applied to analyze data collected. Respondents were classified into three markets such as a group against tourism development, a nature friendly tourism group, and positive group to tourism development with no preference. The core group with the highest visit frequency turned out to be a group against tourism development. Based on the result of data analysis, author suggests that the best way to develop coastal region like Orykdo as a tourist spot needs to be oriented toward minimizing environmental impact on the development object and sustainability as being developed with a type of nature friendly tourism. Besides, it is expected that the study results estimated on the basis of the consumer opinion will encourage the supplier to positively accommodate it. And it lead to prevention of existing visitors from leaving after the tourism development in Orykdo. In addition, such acceptance of the estimation results enables the local government to expect affirmative appreciation later on.
