수단과 목적의 연속성에 의한 통합적 무용교육 -듀이(J. Dewey)의 철학사상을 중심으로- = Synthetic Dance Education by the Continuity in Means and Purpose - Focusing on Dewey's Philosophy

국문 초록 (Abstract)

무용교육은 그 자체로서 가지고 있는 속성인 사회성을 기르고 사회 공동의 언어를 성찰하고 표현하는 것이다. 또한 사회 역시 무용예술이 주는 공동의 관심사나 미래 지향적인 삶의 지표를 제시해 주는 무용과 깊이 연관되어 있다. 즉, 무용과 사회 그리고 개인의 연속성에 의해 성장하는 관계인 것이다.
이와 같은 무용교육과 사회의 연속성에 대한 깊은 이해는 듀이의 교육사상에서 뚜렷이 나타나고 있다. 듀이는 인간의 삶 속에서 행하여지는 경험을 떠나서는 그 가치를 논하는 자체를 무의미하게 보았다. 교육 역시 인간의 일상적 경험 속에 포착되는 실재적인 것이며, 더 나아가 경험의 성장을 위한 수단으로 사용할 때 가치 있는 것으로 여겼다. 이것은 듀이의 수단과 목적의 연속성이라는 그의 주장과 현재 가장 주목받고 있는 무용교육의 중도적 모델과 완벽히 부합하는 이론으로서 그 가치를 둘 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dance Education is to develop sociality, a property that an individual possesses in itself and to reflect and express common language in a society. And society also relates to the common interest provided by dance or the dance that shows a future-oriented barometer in life. In other words, dance, society and individual grow together in their continuous relationship.
The understanding on this continuity in dance education and society can be found in Dewey's theory of education. Dewey found it meaningless to argue solely on the value of human life neglecting the experience in it. According to Dewey, education is what is captured in real in human's daily experience, which is considered as valuable when it is used as a means for the development of experience. This leads to Dewey's theory on the continuity in means and purpose. This thesis finds it significant to show that the above theory corresponds soundly with the moderate model noted most recently in dance education.
