M. 샌델 정의의 사례중심토론수업의 인성교육방안 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Although we can look for personality education­plan in various ways, I am going to do this in the learning of M. Sandel's justice. Sandel's justice might briefly be said to "doing the right thing". Sandel's theory of justice is the latest theory that accepts Aristotle's theory of virtue and is developing, and it is said a theory that is used to find out a justice, namely find out the most right thing by doing situational thought and do it.
In class, when students learn to look at what is the most right thing in a case and learn to bring up an will to do the right thing in practice, as mentioned in Sandel's Harvard Lecture(2011) a personalty­education can well be executed. Because in solving modern complex social problems, it is the personality education that brings up the ability to find out what is right in a situation and brings up the practical ability to do what is right, and such a personality education as an instruction to find out Sandel's justice in class and to do what is the most right thing might be the most effective in a case­discussion class.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인성교육방안을 여러 방향으로 강구할 수 있지만, 여기서는 M. 샌델의 정의 학습에서 그 방안을 강구하고자 하였다. 샌델의 정의는 축약해서 “옳은 것 행하기”(Doing The right Thing)라 할 수 있다. 샌델의 정의론은 아리스토텔레스의 덕론을 크게 수용하여 전개하고 있는 최신의 이론이며, 정의를 찾되 ‘상황적 사량을 충분히 하여 가장 옳은 것을 찾아서 그것을 행하라’는 이론이라 할 수 있다.
수업시간에 학생들이 어떤 사례를 가져와서 그 사례에서 가장 옳은 것이 무엇인지를 토론으로 찾아보는 지적 학습과 그 옳은 것을 실천코자 하는 의지 학습을 수행할 때, 『샌델의 하버드 명강의』(2011)에서 언급하고 있듯이 인성교육이 잘 되어질 것이다. 왜냐하면 현대 복잡한 사회문제를 해결할 때, 그 상황에서 옳은 것이 무엇인지를 찾을 수 있는 능력을 기르고 그 옳은 것을 행하는 의지 실천력을 기르는 것이 바로 인성교육이며, 이런 교육은 수업시간에 샌델의 정의를 찾고 그 정의를 실천하려는 사례중심토론수업이 가장 효과적이기 때문이다.
2017년 1학기 모 대학교에 개설되고 있는 【공학윤리】 두 반 대상으로 샌델 정의의 학습을 공학적 사례의 집단토론방식으로 진행해 보고, 그 다음 설문지를 통한 학습의 결과를 조사・분석해 보았다. 그 결과로 그 학습이 하나의 인성교육방안이 되며, 또한 다른 여타의 교육방안에 못지않게 효과 있는 인성방안교육임을 확인할 수 있었다.
