순환론과 지식의 정당화 = Circularity and Justification of Knowledge

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There are three kinds of justification for knowledge and proposition; justification by results (consequentialism), by procedures (proceduralism), and by circularity. On the one hand, justification by results and procedures, and on the other hand, justification by circularity, can be distinguished by the relationship between knowledge or proposition and truth. According to the social epistemology, Human cognition, or human acts of pursuing knowledge, which encompass and control every kinds of such-and-such practices, and which can be called a 'super-practice‘, is unable to mount any effective argument for the justification without using human cognition. In case of super-practice, its justification can only be accomplished by itself.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지식 또는 명제의 정당화는 크게 세 가지 방식으로 이루어질 수 있다. 결과에 의한 정당화(결과주의), 절차에 의한 정당화(절차주의), 순환론에 의한 정당화가 그것이다. 한편으로, 결과주의와 절차주의, 다른 한편으로, 순환론에 의한 정당화는 명제와 진리 사이의 개념적 관련을 인정하는가 아닌가에 의해 구분된다. 사회적 인식론에 의하면, ‘인간의 인식’, 지식을 탐구하는 행위는 일체의 행위전통을 포괄하고 지배하는 ‘초실제’(super-practice)로서, 그 자신이 아닌 다른 어떤 것에 의해 의존하여 정당화될 수 없다.
